Welcoming Dr. Andy Benoit as Vice President for Student Success

Dear campus community,

Last week, the University of Louisiana System approved the appointment of Dr. Andy J. Benoit Jr. as UL É«ÃÃAV’s inaugural vice president for Student Success.

This newly created position brings together the former Division of Student Affairs and Division of Enrollment Management into a single, integrated unit focused on the entire student life cycle — from recruitment and financial aid to advising, engagement, graduation and career preparation. Aligning these areas under unified leadership allows us to take a coordinated, data-informed approach to strengthening student outcomes.

Dr. Benoit began his new role on March 1. He returns to UL É«ÃÃAV with more than 30 years of experience in enrollment management and student success leadership. He previously served here from 2012 to 2016 as director of Admissions and Recruitment and later as assistant vice president for Enrollment Management. During that time, the University set freshman and overall enrollment records.

Since then, he has held senior leadership roles at institutions across the South and Midwest, most recently serving as vice chancellor for Enrollment Management at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he led record application growth and strengthened retention initiatives.

Importantly, Andy knows this campus well — its people, its strengths and its opportunities. He understands our culture and the deep commitment across this community to supporting students.

Dr. Benoit believes, as I do, that student success is a shared responsibility. This new structure reflects that belief. By aligning enrollment and student support services, we are strengthening our ability to serve students from recruitment through graduation and beyond.

You can read the full University announcement here.

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Benoit back to UL É«ÃÃAV.

Thank you, and Geaux Cajuns!

Dr. Ramesh Kolluru
President
