Welcome Back!

Dear campus community,

Happy new year! As the spring semester begins, I welcome our students, faculty and staff back to campus and wish you all a strong start to 2026.

A new semester brings renewed focus and possibility. It’s a time to reset, to look ahead and to recommit ourselves to the shared purpose that unites us: advancing knowledge, ensuring student success and deepening our Louisiana Impact — work that strengthens communities, expands opportunity and shapes the future of our state. Each of you plays a role in these efforts, and your presence and contributions matter.

I am grateful to our faculty and staff for the dedication you bring to teaching, research, service and student support. Your work makes a meaningful difference every day. To our students: you are at the center of our mission. We believe in your potential, and we are committed to creating an environment where you can learn, grow and prepare for fulfilling futures.

As we move into the spring, we do so with clarity about our responsibilities and confidence in our direction. Guided by the principles of Service, Accountability and Innovation, we will continue strengthening the University and positioning it for lasting impact. The work ahead will require focus and collaboration, and I have great faith in this community’s ability to meet the moment.

I encourage you this semester to stay engaged, support one another and take advantage of the opportunities that come with a new beginning. Thank you for all you do to make the University of Louisiana at É«ÃÃAV an environment of exceptional learning and enduring purpose.

I wish you a productive and successful spring semester — and Geaux Cajuns!
